BRING BIG VALLEY JAMBOREE TO YOUR SMALL TOWN

Big Valley Jamboree SMALL TOWN SATURDAY NIGHT  is going to
GIVE A SMALL ALBERTA TOWN A SHOW OF A LIFETIME

    For Immediate Release (Camrose, Alberta)

Big Valley Jamboree will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2017.  Over those 25 years, BVJ has enjoyed the support of hundreds of thousands of loyal fans from across North America.   A major and integral part of that support comes from rural communities throughout Alberta. As a “thank-you” for this ongoing support, The Big Valley Jamboree has decided to award one of these communities with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to put their small town on the map by bringing back one of the most successful endeavors in the history of Big Valley Jamboree.

A “mini” Big Valley Jamboree will be awarded to one lucky rural Albertan community. All the excitement of the festival, including some of Canada’s finest country music entertainers will be coming to a small town in Alberta!

The grand prize includes a concert headlined by Canadian country music artist Gord Bamford plus a songwriter’s circle performance.  Big Valley’s Master of Ceremonies Danny Hooper will MC the event.   In addition to the excitement of hosting this once-in-a-lifetime concert experience, the winning community can use the event as a fundraiser to support a local charity or municipal initiative of their choice.

The 2012 event resulted in The Town of Legal raising a total of $93,000 for The Friends of Legal School Society to build a new playground for the community.  The 2013 event resulted in raising $67,000 for the Town Of Bashaw School Arts Infusion program.

    Entering is simple:
    • Choose a venue within the community where the event will be hosted
    • Choose a local charity, non-profit, or municipally funded project
    • Invite your friends, neighbors and entire community to vote for your video online

The deadline for entries is January 30, 2017. Online voting will commence on February 1, 2017 to select ten finalists.   Video teams will visit the ten finalist communities and produce videos to be voted on by the general public starting on March 13, 2017.  The winning community will be announced on March 28, 2017 and the grand prize concert will take place on April 29, 2017.

More than 200 communities in Alberta qualify for the contest, which is open to communities of 20,000 people or less.
